A 32 year career in wealth management, Darcy was a founding member of the Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment Group and a Barron’s magazine Top 100 Women Advisors in the US. 

 

In 2016, after a two week ‘retirement’ and creating one very organized wrapping paper closet, she knew she needed purpose again.  Joining the Innovation & Entrepreneurship committee of the Kansas City region’s business initiative, KC Rising, which sought to accelerate economic growth of the region, she helped identify a critical gap: the region needed to retain and grow technology businesses and cultivate a new generation of early-stage investors. KCRise Fund was born.

 

Serving as a Board Observer or Board Member of eleven KCRise portfolio companies, Darcy is hands-on, adding value with customer and talent introductions throughout the portfolio. Decades of experience as an angel investor served as her PhD in best practices in growing an early-stage business. 

 

An advocate for women in business and finance, Darcy was a founding member of Women’s Capital Connection angel investing group and co-founder of KC Women in Finance  and the Kansas City chapter of the international group, Women Corporate Directors. She has served on several civic and recreational boards including Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, United Way, Kansas City Ballet and Crystal Downs Country Club and is a member of the International Women’s Forum.

 

A native of Kirkwood Missouri, half of the oldest high school rivalry West of the Mississippi, Darcy is also a proud graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University where she played one brutal year on the rugby team. 

 

Darcy and her husband are proud parents of two accomplished children and even prouder grandparents of four.
